about citizenMovement
citizenMovement is a growing non-profit organisation supported by citizenM’s guests, employees and partners. It's founded on one of citizenM's values: real caring. We thought real caring shouldn't just stay within our four walls. It should make a difference to people who have never been, and perhaps never will be, citizenM guests.
On our mission to shortening the distance between people and opportunities, we seek out partner organisations that share our caring philosophy.

citizenM's giving strategy
how we give
citizenM has established a multifaceted giving strategy designed to make a meaningful impact on a global and local level. Our strategy is brought to life through three key initiatives: the citizenMovement Foundation, disaster relief policy, and citizenM’s ‘be the change’ volunteer programme. Through these initiatives, we strive to contribute to a better world, foster positive change, and enhance the well-being of the communities in which we operate.
our long-term charity partner
Our long-term charity partner is World Bicycle Relief (WBR). Together, we keep focused on the goal: to shorten the distance between people and opportunities by giving them the gift of mobility. Since partnering with World Bicycle Relief in 2018, we have donated 3.9 million EUR.
We will support World Bicyle Relief's Mobilised Communities project which will supply Buffalo Bicycles to relieve mobility constraints in all sectors: education, healthcare and economy, in one geographic location.
introducing ‘In Their Own Words’
how bikes change lives
citizenMovement talks a lot about the gift of mobility and what it does for a community. But to know the true impact, you have to see it for yourself. Our video series 'In Their Own Words' gives local people in Zomba, Malawi, the chance to explain what a bike means to them.
